On‑Call Service Partner – Standardized Patient (Part‑time)

About the role
This on‑call position supports the Standardized Patient Program at the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine. The selected individual will act as a trained patient in simulated clinical encounters, helping medical students develop diagnostic and communication skills.
Key responsibilities
- Memorize and accurately present case scripts, portraying specific emotions, behaviors and disease signs.
- Maintain a consistent patient character throughout each encounter, responding convincingly to student questions.
- Allow students to perform non‑invasive physical examinations as part of the learning experience.
- Be punctual, dependable and flexible with scheduling, including on‑call assignments.
- Follow written and verbal instructions, incorporate trainer feedback, and participate in group training sessions.
- Agree to be audio‑ and video‑recorded during sessions and wear a hospital gown with under‑clothing.
- Maintain confidentiality of case details, student performance and feedback.
Required profile
- Strong role‑playing ability and quick memorization skills.
- Excellent communication and willingness to accept direction.
- Flexibility, reliability and punctuality for variable schedules.
- Comfort with being filmed and wearing a hospital gown during sessions.
- Professional demeanor when interacting with learners, faculty and peers.
