HR Officer (Recruitment, Onboarding, Benefits Administration)

About the role

GateSource HR Caribbean Division is recruiting an HR Officer for a strategic client in Sint Maarten, supporting the HR Lead in recruitment, training, employee engagement, benefits administration and personnel cost management. The role covers HR files, payroll support, onboarding, benefits liaison and recruitment coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate HR files and employee records in physical and digital form, and generate monthly HR reports for Group, Cluster and Station levels
• Handle employee data requests and prepare job letters, vacation records, communications, memos and benefits documentation
• Support payroll by reviewing departmental inputs, answering employee questions and entering data on new hires, terminations and promotions
• Liaise with external benefits providers (health insurance, disability plans, retirement programs, EAP), submit medical claims within 48 hours and follow up
• Organize onboarding, issue company ID cards and manage airport security pass applications
• Assist recruitment by working with managers on job descriptions, coordinating vendors, reviewing applications, scheduling interviews and maintaining the recruitment database
• Coordinate training and employee engagement activities such as benefits enrollment, recognition events and holiday celebrations
• Resolve employee queries promptly and uphold industrial relations practices

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Management or a related field
• At least five years of experience in an HR role
• Strong knowledge of local labor laws and employment practices
• Fluency in English; Spanish is an asset
