Cost and Inventory Lead (Cost Control / Inventory Management)

About the role

GateSource HR Caribbean Division is recruiting, on behalf of a key client, a Cost and Inventory Lead for a position based in Sint Maarten, Dutch Caribbean. The role coordinates cost-related activities, develops and organizes cost systems, oversees cost analysis and provides monthly reports on product profitability and inventories.

Key responsibilities

• Develop cost control systems that track, analyze and manage product and operational costs, keeping cost data and methods accurate and consistent.
• Monitor inventory by visiting branches and airport concessions regularly to check product quality, expiration dates and inventory turnover, and compare physical stock with system records to spot discrepancies.
• Carry out monthly and ad hoc cost analysis, record and evaluate raw material costs, inventory valuations and cost variations against budgets, and support strategic decisions.
• Oversee periodic physical inventory counts and reconcile them with system records.
• Work with warehouse, purchasing and finance teams to integrate cost and inventory data and streamline workflows aligned with financial objectives.
• Set up and maintain inventory and cost-tracking systems, follow administration and finance guidelines, and continuously improve cost and inventory practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in cost management, inventory control or financial analysis in the public or private sector.
• Critical thinking, planning, attention to detail, strong numerical ability and self-management; patient, proactive, results-oriented and effective communicator.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Familiarity with inventory management software.
