Senior Operational Auditor (Risk Assessment & Compliance)

About the role

GateSource HR's Caribbean Division is recruiting, on behalf of a key client, a Senior Operational Auditor for the Caribbean division of an insurance company. The role covers risk assessment, compliance and internal controls, and process optimization.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and carry out internal audits, including assessing risks, building a comprehensive audit plan and executing audit activities.
• Evaluate business processes, systems, IT infrastructure, financial operations and compliance efforts against the annual audit schedule, define objectives, design procedures and draft detailed reports.
• Examine intermediaries' operations and assess systems against policies, laws and regulations such as anti-money laundering rules and insurance industry standards.
• Deliver evidence-based recommendations to management and follow up on weaknesses in controls and processes, including corrective action plans.
• Support external audit activities when required, uphold impartiality and adhere to the Internal Audit Charter and international professional standards.
• Provide a biannual performance self-evaluation to the Head of Internal Audit.

Required profile

• At least one recognized professional certification in auditing or accounting (e.g. CIA, ACCA, CA, CPA, RA).
• A minimum of four years of auditing experience, ideally in operational audits within a corporate setting.
• Ongoing commitment to deepening knowledge of the insurance sector.
• Ability to work autonomously with minimal oversight and to collaborate within a team.
• Strong command of spoken and written English, able to communicate findings clearly to senior leadership.

• Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
• Excellent report writing, analytical thinking, problem solving and attention to detail.
