On-Call Service Partner (Proctor)

About the role

American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine (AUC), a Covista institution, is looking for an on-call service partner (proctor) for its Testing Center in Sint Maarten. The role monitors and safeguards the integrity of assessments and maintains a professional environment for students. It is a part-time position.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and apply expert knowledge of Testing Center policies, practices and procedures.
• Verify student identity at check-in and assist with security screening of entrants.
• Monitor students continuously while they complete assessments and answer their questions promptly, escalating issues when needed.
• Keep a secure environment, prevent misconduct, and ensure every student has a fair and comfortable testing experience.
• Document all incidents accurately.
• Help with set-up and wrap-up, attend pre-assessment briefings for assigned shifts, and attend training sessions.
• Perform other duties as assigned, comply with time-keeping policies and stay punctual.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Ability to communicate professionally with students and colleagues, write detailed reports and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to monitor students at a distance or through camera monitors.
• Ability to learn basic computer and application troubleshooting.
• Physical stamina to walk, stand and climb stairs for 1 to 6 hours.
• Confidentiality of testing materials, proprietary information and student records.
• Personal device such as a smartphone able to install Microsoft Teams, and willingness to respond to school communications outside working hours.
