Campus Safety & Security Officer

About the role

The Safety and Security Officer provides entry‑level safety and security functions across the university campus, promoting lawful behavior and protecting the welfare of students, faculty, staff and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols of campus grounds, buildings and facilities to deter theft, vandalism and unauthorized activity.
• Monitor campus through electronic surveillance devices and on‑the‑ground patrols, reporting risks and vulnerabilities.
• Manage visitor access by verifying identification badges and regulating pedestrian and vehicle entry points.
• Respond promptly to security incidents, alarms and emergencies, providing first aid and coordinating with police or emergency personnel.
• Document incidents with detailed reports and maintain radio communication with other safety personnel.

Required profile

• Secondary education (high school diploma) preferred.
• At least 1 year of verifiable job experience; 1 year of security or safety experience preferred.
• Dutch or French driver’s license required.
• Willingness to work varying schedules including evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
