Quality Officer (HACCP / Food Safety / Manufacturing Compliance)

About the role

This position supports the organization's compliance with internal and external quality and food safety standards. The Quality Officer conducts training, performs audits, runs product evaluations and collects data so that processes and outputs match specifications, while helping drive continuous improvement across departments.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine quality testing such as chlorine levels, quaternary compound checks, temperature measurements and sensory evaluations.
• Monitor, document and enforce GMPs, CCPs, CPs and other HACCP requirements across all relevant areas.
• Gather and analyze microbiological samples from food, water, ice and environmental surfaces, and trigger corrective actions when needed.
• Take part in inspections and audits of departments, suppliers and subcontractors and follow up on corrective actions.
• Help develop, update and maintain the site-specific HACCP plan, keeping adherence to SOPs and SSOPs.
• Track outstanding audit findings until closed and alert the HACCP Manager to deviations or out-of-specification results.
• Review product, service and process performance against quality and food safety objectives, support departmental projects and contribute to HSSE committees, the HACCP Committee and employee engagement groups.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Food Science or a related discipline, or certification in Quality (e.g. CQE) or Food Safety standards.
• At least three years of experience in a similar role within food manufacturing or processing.
• Solid understanding of HACCP systems and manufacturing quality assurance processes.
• Experience in the food industry is an asset.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods; occasional local travel may be required.

• Competence in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
